Faith of Our Mothers is a Judeo-Christian site which seeks to point people from all walks of life to the love of mothers as being foundational to the well-being of nations as well as families and communities. The combination of freedom and the love of a mother are powerful influences which have the potential to replace despair with hope, fear with courage, and ultimately war with peace. In these turbulent times which try the souls of men, the love of mothers is able to make all the difference to the free world, for the benefit of both men and women.
Faith Of Our Mothers points the Judeo-Christian world to the New Jerusalem “who is above, who is free and who is our mother” (Galatians 4:26). We believe that freedom is like oxygen to the fire of God’s love for all of humanity and the two must go together. As the old saying goes, ‘love is a choice.’ We show love for one another by the choices we make and we need freedom to make those choices. Therefore we seek to empower wives and mothers with wisdom and understanding about how to uphold freedom for their loved ones.
We believe the Christian faith is foundational to true freedom in which the love of God can thrive. Galatians 5:1 says “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not be yoked again by a burden of slavery.” As 2 Corinthians 3:17 says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” And Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) said “If you hold to My teachings you are really My disciples. Then you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:1-32).
It’s no coincidence that the pivotal scripture used to honour those who made the supreme sacrifice for the free world, is linked to the greatest love any human can have: ”Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Faithofourmothers.ca recognizes this as following the way of the cross about which Jesus said “whoever would come after Me must take up His cross and follow Me;” and “whoever does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me” (Matthew 16:24, Matthew 10:38).
The wisdom and revelation on this site is intended to raise awareness of the need for the true Church to follow way of the cross. The true Church is defined herein as ‘those who worship in Spirit and in truth’ (John 4:24). As this world spirals out of control with nation rising against nation, and increasing economic uncertainty, the way of the cross proves to be the narrow path leading to full life in Christ. The cross is the great purifier of motives when we dare to go there ourselves and put our own lives on the line for someone else. It flushes out all fear and perfects us in the love of Christ, which leads to increasing freedom. The result is the ultimate freedom for which all of creation awaits, as described in Romans 8:19-21:
“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”
This site seeks to raise awareness of the need for Judeo-Christian wives and mothers to become all they were created to be for such a time as this. It exposes the pitfalls of empty religion that exists for its own sake and every other lifestyle that keeps women in places of slavery. The goal is not to promote rampant feminism nor to champion women’s rights, but to look closely at the scriptural basis defining women’s responsibilities – where they start and where they end.
It is the position of this site that God created wives and mothers to not only be servants, but guardians. When God created Eve He said “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18). The original Hebrew meaning for the word helper is ‘to surround, to protect, to aid’.* It’s the same root word used in scripture passages which refer to the Lord Himself as a means of help and protection. For example, Psalm 121 says “I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth.” And Psalm 28:7 says “The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Today, with the overwhelming challenges men face in this world, it’s more important than ever for godly women to be freed up to do what they need to do on behalf of the men and children in their lives. Some have it in them to be like spiritual Esthers; not afraid to stare death in the face, to overcome all evil. This site seeks to exhort such women to rise up in bold faith and become all they were created to be. We encourage others to support them as well.
